Nominee

Brian Matthew
Board of Directors Nominee

Brian Matthew is a Licensed Civil Aviation Maintenance Engineer with over 41 years of experience in the aviation industry, including tenures at BWIA (1981–2006) and Caribbean Airlines (2006–present). He has managed departments including Maintenance Control, Technical Training, and Production Planning, and has functioned as a Line Maintenance Engineer across multiple jurisdictions including New York, Toronto, Guyana, Antigua, and Barbados.

Brian holds a Bachelor of Electromechanical Engineering Technology and a Master of Business Administration from the City University of New York, with additional postgraduate training in project management, human resource management, industrial relations, and management development.

He has served on boards of financial organizations for over 20 years, ascending to the position of Vice President, and is currently President of Aero Services Credit Union. He has chaired the Investment and Audit Committees at ASCU.

Courtney Demming
Board of Directors Nominee

Courtney Demming is an aviation professional with over 34 years of industry experience in Airline Operations & Safety, Regulatory Compliance, Strategic Planning, Risk Management, Investments, Customer Service, Human Resource Management, and Aircraft Maintenance & Engineering.

He holds a Bachelor in Air Transport Engineering and a Master of Science in Aviation Management, with certified in-service training at ICAO/IATA in leadership, safety, and aviation management.

With over 22 years in the credit union movement, Courtney has served ASCU at various governance levels including the Board of Directors (Vice President, Assistant Secretary, and Director), Supervisory Committee, Credit Committee, Tobago Liaison Committee, Education Committee, Audit and Risk Committee, and as current Chairman of the Investment Committee.

Meryl Faye Husbands
Board of Directors Nominee

Meryl Faye Husbands is a seasoned professional who spent her entire career in aviation — first at BWIA West Indies Airways and then at Caribbean Airlines Limited from 2007 until her retirement in 2025. She brings extensive expertise in Finance (management accounting, cost management, budgeting) and Human Resource Management (HR administration, industrial relations, HR strategy).

Faye holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management (Anglia Ruskin University), an Associate Degree in Human Resource Management (Cipriani College), and a Certificate in Human Resource Management (Roytec/American Management Association).

She has served ASCU as Board Secretary, Director, Supervisory Committee Chairperson, Credit Committee Member, and HR Committee Member.

Julia Stafford-Howe
Supervisory Committee Nominee

Julia Stafford-Howe is Executive Assistant to the VP Maintenance and Engineering at Caribbean Airlines, with 19 years of service at CAL preceded by 13 years as an Administrative Assistant at BWIA. She holds a Diploma in Project Management, a Master of Science in Aviation Management, and several professional certifications.

Her expertise spans Customer Service, Budget Preparation, Employee Relations, Job Evaluation, Procurement, and General Administration. Julia previously served on the ASCU Supervisory Committee and is passionate about contributing to Policy Development and Service Level Improvement.

Sasha Jameson
Supervisory Committee Nominee

Sasha Jameson is a highly trained aviation professional with over a decade of experience as a Purser at Caribbean Airlines, dedicated to superior customer service, passenger safety, and operational standards. Prior to CAL, she spent over seven years at RBTT (now RBC) in roles from Customer Service Representative to Supervisor — Personal Banking.

Sasha is a qualified member of the Association of Business Executives (ABE, UK) and holds a BSc in Labour Studies/Industrial Relations from Cipriani College, an MBA, and certifications in Project Management and Supervisory Management. She has served on the ASCU Supervisory Committee and as Secretary of the Education Committee.

Michelle Highly
Supervisory Committee Nominee

Michelle Highly is an aviation professional with over 20 years of progressive leadership at Caribbean Airlines, where she currently serves as Senior Manager, Systems Operations Control and Crew Scheduling. She brings deep expertise in governance, compliance, risk management, and operational oversight, gained through managing complex, highly regulated environments.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Sector Management and International Relations and a Master’s Degree in Business Management. Michelle has served as a Member of the ASCU Supervisory Committee for at least 6 terms over the period 2016–2025, and is committed to ethical leadership, accountability, and service.

Lester Young
Supervisory Committee Nominee

Lester Young is a highly experienced aviation security professional with over 20 years in airline security, regulatory compliance, and aviation audits. His career began at BWIA in 1991 before joining Caribbean Airlines in 2007, where he conducts security audits, oversees compliance with ICAO and IOSA standards, and leads security oversight across the airline’s network.

Beyond his professional career, Lester has been an active ASCU member, serving on the Education Committee since 2018 and as its Chairman for five of those years.

LeeAnn Gibbs
Supervisory Committee Nominee

LeeAnn Gibbs is a seasoned customer experience and operations professional with over 15 years in the aviation industry, including more than a decade in supervisory and leadership roles. She currently supports executive-level operations at Caribbean Airlines, with responsibilities spanning strategic planning, performance reporting, change management governance, and compliance oversight.

LeeAnn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and a Master’s Degree in General Management. She is motivated by a strong commitment to accountability, transparency, and ethical practices, and is eager to contribute to the protection of members’ interests within ASCU.

Cindy Stewart-Lewis
Supervisory Committee Nominee

Cindy Stewart-Lewis is a Human Resource Analyst at the Division of Settlements, Public Utilities, and Rural Development in Tobago. She holds a Diploma in Administrative Management, a Diploma in Labour Laws, an Associate’s Degree in Human Resource Management, and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration.

A trained workshop facilitator specializing in customer service excellence, she has also served as ASCU Tobago Committee Chairman from 2017–2025 and currently serves as 2nd Alternate on the Supervisory Committee (2025–2026). She successfully completed the CaribDE program in 2025, earning certification as a Development Leader.

Nicole Ramsey-Figaro
Supervisory Committee Nominee

Nicole Ramsey-Figaro is an experienced human resource professional with over 20 years of expertise in HR operations, payroll administration, recruitment, and employee relations. She currently serves as HR Business Support Specialist at Caribbean Airlines Limited, providing strategic and administrative support across payroll, performance management, and training. Prior to CAL, she held key management roles at the Environmental Management Authority and Securicor.

Nicole holds a BSc in Business and Education from the University of the Southern Caribbean, an AIHR Certified HR Generalist Certificate, and a Master’s Degree in General Management. She has been an ASCU member for over 25 years and has served three consecutive terms on the Supervisory Committee (2022–2025).

Sunita Singh
Supervisory Committee Nominee

Sunita Singh is a dedicated educator with approximately 17 years in primary school teaching, bringing a passion for shaping young minds and making a positive difference in her community. Before entering education, she worked in the airline industry where she developed strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.

Sunita holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Trinidad and Tobago and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Bedfordshire. She has served on school committees, the local Presbyterian Church Board, and as Sunday School Superintendent. She has been an ASCU member for over 25 years.

Nethaneel Ramsey
Supervisory Committee Nominee

Nethaneel Ramsey is a customer service professional at Caribbean Airlines Ltd. with over a decade of experience in the aviation industry. An extrovert at heart, she thrives on building meaningful connections and fostering positive relationships with customers and colleagues alike.

Nethaneel holds a BBA in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the University of the Southern Caribbean and a Certificate in Transformational Leadership from SBCS. After serving in the Credit Committee for two (2) years, Nethaneel remains passionate about serving others and is eager to further contribute to the Aero Services Credit Union.

Gerarda Browne
Credit Committee Nominee

Gerarda Browne is a Customs and Excise Officer within the Ministry of Finance with 13 years of service, bringing a diverse professional background that includes roles as a Language Teacher in Florida and Jamaica, Field Hockey Coach, Front Office Supervisor, and Sub-editor at the Trinidad Express. She also practiced as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Orlando, Florida for six years.

Gerarda became an ASCU member in 2024 and is passionate about giving back to the Credit Union by assisting and guiding members to seize the opportunities within the Aero Services family.

Elizabeth Aqui
Credit Committee Nominee

Elizabeth Aqui is a retired professional with a diverse career spanning Broadcast Journalism at TTT, Country Specialist at TIDCO, and Events Management and Corporate Communications at UTT. Since retiring in 2019, she has been managing Aqui’s Consultancy Services and has served on the Board of Directors of the Greater Tunapuna Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

An active ASCU member since 2007, Elizabeth has contributed to the Education Committee for three years and the Credit Committee for nine years. She is a strong supporter of Credit Unionism and its role in sound resource management.

Mavis Edwards
Credit Committee Nominee

Mavis Edwards is a retired professional with 42 years of experience and an ASCU member since 1978 — one of the credit union’s longest-serving members. She has served on both the Supervisory and Credit Committees at different intervals until 2025.

As a CaribDE certificate holder, Mavis is specially trained in Financial Management for Credit Unions and Co-operatives, and is also certified in Effective Credit Management and Anti-Money Laundering & Counter Financing of Terrorism (AML & CFT).

Blair O’Brien
Credit Committee Nominee

Blair O’Brien is an independent legal practitioner whose portfolio spans civil, probate, land and conveyancing, company, and family law. With a background in criminology and social development policy and planning, she brings a people-centred approach and skills in compliance, risk awareness, document review, and organization and management.

Blair holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of the West Indies, the Legal Education Certificate from the Hugh Wooding Law School, and the Anti-Money Laundering & Financial Crimes Certification from the AMLFC Institute. She values community engagement and is passionate about supporting ASCU’s community-focused financial stewardship.

Marlon Wharwood
Credit Committee Nominee

Marlon Wharwood is a career aviation professional with 25 years of combined service to BWIA, Tobago Express, and Caribbean Airlines, where he currently holds the position of Ground Operations Coordinator. He values time management, regulatory compliance, high quality customer service, teamwork, accountability, and performance monitoring.

Marlon holds a NEC Technician Certificate in Business Management from San Fernando Technical Institute (now UTT) and has been an ASCU member since 2005. In appreciation of the benefits he has derived from membership, he brings his expertise in customer service delivery and operations management to the service of fellow members.

Joanne Mora
Credit Committee Nominee

Joanne Mora is a dynamic leader who embodies the values of loyalty, dedication, and service. Her career spans over 20 years in significant roles at the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (UN ECLAC), FIFA, the Ministry of Planning and Development, and the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure. For the past ten years, she has led the Centre of Excellence, first as Deputy CEO and now as CEO.

Joanne holds an MBA in Leadership from Anglia Ruskin University, a BSc in Agriculture from the University of the West Indies, and is currently a PhD student at UTT focusing on workplace productivity. She is a founding member of the Holy Trinity Parish Credit Union and a current member of the ASCU Credit Committee (2025–2026).

Angela Passee
Credit Committee Nominee

Angela Passee is a committed Credit Union Advocate with over 35 years of experience in the financial services sector, having served at Eastern Credit Union in key roles including Marketing Officer and Call Centre Supervisor. Her career reflects strong leadership, advocacy, and decision-making skills, with a consistent focus on member satisfaction and operational excellence.

Angela also served on the BIGWU Negotiating Committee for Eastern Credit Union, championing the well-being of staff and fair working conditions. She has been an ASCU member since 2024 and is eager to leverage her extensive credit union experience in support of sound credit practices and enhanced member value.

Allison Saunders-Blanc
Credit Committee Nominee

Allison Saunders-Blanc has been an ASCU member for eight years and is currently employed at Caribbean Airlines Limited as a Customer Contact Agent, where she ensures seamless service delivery. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Anglia Ruskin University and a Certificate in Business Management.

With years of experience in the airline industry, Allison has developed exceptional networking skills and expertise in customer service, issue resolution, and high service standards. She has served on the ASCU Credit Committee in 2025–2026 and remains passionate about giving superior service to members.
