Happy 70th Anniversary – ANNIVERSARY LOAN SPECIAL

This was a special loan designed to allow members to commemorate the milestone of Aero Services reaching 70 years in business. This loan could be accessed for any purpose desired by the member, up to 2 1/2 times their share capital.

  • Any relevant documents
  • Proof of income i.e. recent job letter and salary slip
  • Two (2) forms of valid ID
  • Proof of address i.e. recent utility bill/bank statement
  • Reduced loan fees*

Dear Valued Members,

On Monday 28th September 2020, Aero Services Credit Union celebrates its 70th Anniversary. It gives me great pleasure to be able to usher in this very significant milestone by expressing sincere appreciation for your unwavering support over the years as we successfully transitioned from our very humble beginnings to being able to boast of an asset size in excess of $300 Million today. This bears testimony to the resilience of you our members.

One of the biggest drivers for our continued growth has undoubtedly been the faith you continue to have in our Credit Union to satisfy your financial needs and the ongoing partnership forged with you in the accomplishment of your life goals. We wholeheartedly appreciate the fact that you stayed the course and most importantly, continued to be an integral part of this journey which began for some of us in the year 1950.

We especially thank you for the understanding displayed throughout our 70year existence and moreso during this unprecedented period of the Covid-19 pandemic. We fully acknowledge the fact that most of you needed to make unplanned adjustments because of the measures imposed over the preceding months as we responded to the impact of Covid-19. We pray and hope that soon, some semblance of normalcy would return.

We acknowledge the efforts of our early pioneers for having the vision to start a “Buyers Club” in the Stores department of BWIA which evolved to the Cooperative we know today as Aero Services Credit Union.

We can certainly count our many blessings, as we reminisce through the years, successfully navigating the impact of the retrenchment among our membership and indeed the eventual closure of our beloved national airline BWIA International in 2006, which altered many of our lives forever.

Looking ahead, the challenges associated with Covid-19 has certainly forced the world to reexamine the way business is conducted and we at Aero Services Credit Union have indeed risen to this challenge as we maintained business continuity by periodically tweaking our operating paradigm to ensure the continued safety of our dedicated staff and members.

We are cognizant of the enormity of the task facing us as a nation and as a Credit Union in this global village. However, we will continue to strive to honour our commitment to you as outlined in our mission statement.

We wish for you God’s blessings, excellent health and continued growth and stability for Aero Services Credit Union as we steadfastly and confidently progress towards our next milestone.

Temporary Disruption in Service – AERO Visa Debit Card

Kindly note that we are currently experiencing a temporary disruption in uploading daily credits to your Aero Visa Debit Card.

JMMB is experiencing some technical difficulties following their System Upgrade on September 14, 2020, please note the following:

  • No credits have been uploaded to members’ cards from Monday September 14 and will not be transferred until further notice
  • Members who had funds on their cards as at Friday September 11 will have access via:
    • JMMB ATM branches
    • Point of Sale
    • Online Purchases/Payments

Should you wish to have access to funds during this time, ACH/direct deposits to your bank account will be facilitated.

Change in Cashier Operations

Remaining Dividend and Loan Rebate Payment

Dear Valued Member,

As declared at our AGM held Saturday September 5, 2020, the remaining 25% dividend and loan rebate (12%) payments will commence Monday September 14, 2020.

For those members who requested cash payments, we urge you to consider the options of ACH (payment made directly to your Bank Account) or payment to your ASCU Visa Debit Card. These options will ensure faster and safer access to your funds. Please feel free to contact the office to arrange this process.

However, if you must receive cash payments, please note that to ensure compliance with the social / physical distancing requirements, payments will be facilitated as follows:
